Grant Seeking FAQ / Criteria

How does an organization apply for a grant?

We only accept grant applications that align with our annually stated Grant Directives. Applications must be submitted on our Short-Form Application via email from January 1- September 30. Applicants selected as having the greatest potential to further our strategic objectives will receive requests for Full Proposals by October 31 and Full Proposals must be received no later than December 31. Grant winners will be chosen and notified by March 31.

What types of grants are offered?

Based on information and experiences gleaned from previously awarded grant projects and initiatives as well as where we feel needs are greatest, the Foundation forms an annual strategy that determines the annual Grant Directives as specified in Grant Information. The only grant inquiries we will consider are those which specifically support the current Grant Directives.

How often are grants awarded, and what is the deadline for application submission?

Grants are awarded annually. Applications must be submitted between January 1 and September 30. Selected applicants receive requests for Full Proposals by October 31 and Full Proposals must be received no later than December 31. Winners are selected and notified by March 31.

Are multi-year grants awarded, or may an organization apply for and receive grants in consecutive years?

The Finker Frenkel Foundation reserves the right, at our discretion to award multi-year grants if we feel a particular project or initiative shows great potential and may, in our estimation, reasonably require more than one year to produce the desired results. On some occasions, a particular funded grant may be awarded another grant the following year to either continue the work of the original grant or to move in a slightly different direction based on the results of the previous grant work.
