Giving has been the history of the Finker-Frenkel family. Throughout that history, we have been privileged to come alongside countless individuals, families and organizations. Our practice of lending assistance to any with needs, regardless of cultural variables or condition, has imparted many incomparable insights. Among these are:
The Make A Wish Foundation proves every 38 minutes, on average, that a wish come true has sometimes more might than mere medicine. A dream is the most powerful of motivators. By granting the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions, we are demonstrating to all the human potential to make dreams a reality. When the knowledge of that potential becomes a certainty, there is no goal too impossible to achieve. Giving the heart a hope to hold on to can be life-sustaining, and -we believe- should be the highest objective of every philanthropic endeavor.
In the spirit of that objective, there are places where hope is not denied an individual because of their inability to pay for medical treatment. Where innovation in medical care is not limited by convention, and forward progress is made in research and teaching every day. Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, “the largest private independent not-for-profit teaching hospital in south Florida” is one such place. As a Member of the Society of Mount Sinai, we are honored to partner with an organization with over six decades of training successive generations in the quest for medical advancement, creating a legacy of hope that will reach into the future for generations to come.
It is only by molding the future that we can effect lasting change. This is best accomplished by instilling values and purpose in the next generation. Through our work with Chabad Southside in Jacksonville, Florida, we have seen firsthand that the most effective setting for this task is within our local worship and cultural community centers. In these environments of safety and affirmation, the finest qualities of the human spirit are empowered to grow and flourish, bettering all of society.
